Through his journey, Scott has found not just a way to fly, but a way to live.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-2-xl-font-size\" id=\"h-the-call-to-fly-a-dream-rediscovered-nbsp\">The Call to Fly: A Dream Rediscovered&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott\u2019s story with aviation didn\u2019t start with the Vision Jet, but it began with a dream that was put on hold. \u201cI was set to go to the Naval Academy out of high school and was offered a pilot slot,\u201d Scott recalls. \u201cBut then that was taken away due to an astigmatism. So, ultimately, I ended up not going into the Navy and pursued another career, but I always wanted to fly.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Years later, after dropping their daughter off at college, his wife, Kim, reignited that spark. \u201cScott had always had this dream of flying, and when our kids left the house, we found ourselves at a crossroads. What do we do now?\u201d Kim remembers. \u201cI was a stay-at-home mom, and I thought, &#8216;What\u2019s my new life going to be?&#8217; So, I said to Scott, &#8216;How about now we reach for our dreams? You become a pilot, and I\u2019ll write a book and get it published.&#8217; And we sat down and said, &#8216;Let\u2019s do it.&#8217;\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two embarked on their respective journeys\u2014Scott diving into flight training and Kim writing her book. \u201cI\u2019d be writing at night, and he\u2019d be studying,\u201d she says. \u201cAnd a year later, my book came out, and Scott had his pilot\u2019s license. We did it.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"68104\" src=\"https:\/\/cirrusaircraft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/ppl-rating-complete-1.jpeg\" alt=\"man standing in front of plane\" class=\"wp-image-68104\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"68105\" src=\"https:\/\/cirrusaircraft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/first-flight-with-kim-after-ppl.jpeg\" alt=\"couple sitting in plane\" class=\"wp-image-68105\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-2-xl-font-size\" id=\"h-a-new-beginning-with-cirrus-nbsp\">A New Beginning with Cirrus&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott continued his training, earning his Private Pilot\u2019s License and Instrument Rating. He knew the next step was purchasing an aircraft, but before making a decision, he asked Kim a critical question: \u201cAre you going to fly with me?\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her answer was an immediate no. \u201cSo that kind of put a damper on the whole pursuit of aviation because I wanted it to be something we could do together,\u201d Scott says. But then he had an idea. \u201cI said, &#8216;What if the plane had a parachute?&#8217;\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kim\u2019s response? \u201cI am not jumping out of a plane with a parachute!\u201d she laughs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott reassured her: \u201cNo, no. The entire plane has a parachute.\u201d That changed everything. \u201cIf that\u2019s the case, I\u2019m in. I could do that,\u201d Kim recalls.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After an experience flight with Dan Arch of Northwest Flight Service and meeting with Ivy McIver, Executive Director of the SR Series Product Line, Kim was sold. \u201cThe Cirrus Vision Jet with the parachute, and now with the Safe Return\u2122 button, totally took my fear away. It gave me extra peace of mind,\u201d she says. \u201cIf we did have an engine issue, we could pull that chute. And if, heaven forbid, anything happened to Scott, I can get the plane on the ground as simple as pushing a button.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cirrusaircraft.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/img-3023-scaled.jpeg\" alt=\"couple inside of plane\" class=\"wp-image-68106\" style=\"width:504px;height:auto\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-2-xl-font-size\" id=\"h-from-sr-series-to-vision-jet-nbsp\">From SR Series to Vision Jet&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For Scott, the Vision Jet represents both efficiency and adventure. \u201cI would put two words to it: It\u2019s a time machine and an adventure machine,\u201d he says. \u201cWith work, I can get where I need to go quickly and still be home for dinner. But the other part is adventure. We\u2019ve been able to go places we never thought about going. Instead of saying, &#8216;How can we get there?&#8217; Now it\u2019s, &#8216;Why aren\u2019t we going?&#8217;\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott\u2019s journey to the Vision Jet started with the SR Series, where he built confidence and experience as a pilot.
