The Small Town Where Every Cirrus Aircraft Starts – Grand Forks, North Dakota

April 1, 2021

Joining our production team has many perks, including hand-crafting components used on the world’s best-selling SR Series and the Collier Trophy-winning Vision Jet. But, one of the primary perks is the opportunity to live in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Located on the North Dakota/Minnesota border, Grand Forks is home to the University of North Dakota – alma mater to many of our pilots and team members at Cirrus Aircraft. Grand Forks is the hub of our composite production facility, including the carbon fiber parts unique to the Vision Jet, and the city continues to serve as a critical component of our global manufacturing operations.

If you are considering joining our team, we’ve compiled a list of the many reasons we love living and working in Grand Forks. And, if you need more information or recommendations from a local, connect with us on LinkedIn and we’d be happy to help!

Community Centered Around Water

Grand Forks is renowned for its outdoor activity opportunities including canoeing, paddle boarding, kayaking, cycling, cross-country skiing, fishing and snowmobiling. Whether the waters are free flowing or frozen solid, Grand Forks’ world-renowned waterways provide boundless opportunities for fun throughout the year.

Delicious Local Dives

The small-town feel of Grand Forks is accentuated by dining options that echo the feel of a college town. Rhombus Guys, Toasted Frog and Parrot’s Cay Tavern & Grill top our list of eats in the Grand Forks area. But, of course, nothing beats fresh grilled fish in your own home, caught in the pristine waters that day. (Did we mention that our team loves fishing?)

Arts Culture is Everywhere

Like many college towns, Grand Forks offers a vibrant arts culture that surpasses your typical small town. The flourishing arts and culture scene is best highlighted by the Browning Arts Gallery, the Empire Theatre Company and Fire Hall Theatre.

Community Connections

Grand Forks’ small-town atmosphere and low cost of living contribute to making it an incredible place to live and raise a family. Neighborhoods such as Ferry Township, Thompson and Northwood top our list.
