Cirrus SR Series G7+ Receives Transport Canada Civil Aviation Validation of Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland

August 25, 2025

The Cirrus SR Series G7+ has successfully achieved Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) validation of Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland by Garmin®. TCCA validation confirms that all Cirrus SR Series G7+ aircraft models with Safe Return Emergency Autoland system adhere to stringent regulatory standards set by Transport Canada concerning aviation safety, performance and operational requirements.

“Achieving TCCA certification for the newest Cirrus SR Series G7+ with Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland is a testament to our continuous commitment and growth in the Canadian market,” said Zean Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer of Cirrus “This certification enables Canadian Cirrus aircraft owners to take delivery of their new SR Series G7+ aircraft with Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland.”

Since 1999, Cirrus has delivered over 10,000 SR Series aircraft with 17 million flight hours fleet-wide. The company is known for integrating the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System® (CAPS®) as standard equipment on all aircraft. The SR Series is the best-selling high-performance single-engine piston aircraft for 23 years.

Cirrus also manufactures the 愿景喷气机, the world’s first single-engine jet, equipped with CAPS and Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland as standard equipment. Cirrus has delivered over 600 Vision Jets and received the prestigious Robert J. Collier trophy. The Vision Jet is the best-selling jet in general aviation.

The SR Series G7+

In May, Cirrus announced the new SR Series G7+ featuring Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland by Garmin®, the world’s first FAA-approved autonomous emergency landing system in a single-engine piston aircraft. In the event of an emergency, anyone in the cabin can activate Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland with the touch of a button, commanding the aircraft to navigate to a suitable nearby airport and land autonomously.

Once activated, Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland uses advanced algorithms and sensors to autonomously fly to the nearest suitable airport, notify air traffic control, communicate with passengers, navigate terrain, obstacles and weather, and then safely land the aircraft, bringing it to a full stop and shutting down the engine.

This advancement in aviation safety provides pilots and passengers with an automated emergency landing option in the event of pilot incapacitation or similar in-flight emergency. Cirrus is currently delivering the SR Series G7+ with Safe Return™ Emergency Autoland.
